Landscape Of The European Chemical Industry – Bulgaria

According to the Bulgarian Chamber of Chemical Industry (BCCI), chemical industry annual turnover in the country amounts €3.3 billion created by 642 companies that employee directly 13.050 people.

The priority areas of the chemical sector in Bulgaria for the period 2020 are related to the development and implementation of new environmentally friendly technologies, producing chemical products needed on the market. Priority is given to the utilization of generated wastes converting them to the secondary raw materials, minimizing emissions and saving energy resource; contributing to circular economy. New installations are planned to be constructed and put in operation in the coming years in Lukoil-Neftochim, Solvay-Sodi and Svilosa and the investment cost will be above 500 000 000 EUR.
